ABSORB-M

MASH Tested to TL-2 and TL-3, anchorless water-filled cushion

The Absorb-M has been designed for applications mainly on construction sites. Two configurations are possible with the Absorb-M either in TL-2 (70km/h and less) or in TL-3 (100km/h and less). Without anchoring to the ground, simply anchor the system to the concrete barrier with the universal transition.

ABSORB-M TL-2 CONFIGURATION

The Absorb-M in TL-2 configuration (70km/h and less) is a very short system that can easily be incorporated into a road configuration where space is limited. The Absorb-M in TL-2 configuration is only 4.5 meters long wich makes it easy to add for example in a short access door, a small work area between two intersections, a straight section just before a sharp curve, etc. All parts of the Absorb-M TL-2 can easily fit in the box of a pickup truck. The filled element can easily be handled with a fork lift without emptying it.

ABSORB-M TL-3 CONFIGURATION

The Absorb-M in TL-3 configuration (100km/h and less) is a very short system that can easily be incorporated into a road configuration where space is limited. The Absorb-M in TL-3 configuration is only 6.4 meters long wich makes it easy to add for example in a very short exit ramp, a highway construction site access while limiting the impacts on the project, etc. All parts of the Absorb-M TL-3 can easily fit in the box of a pickup truck. The two filled elements can also be handle with a fork lift without emptying them.

The Absorb-M has passed the TL-2 and TL-3 tests according to the new MASH standard.

MASH STANDARD

The new MASH standard is an update of the current standards to provide a new range of safe products that meet the new safety requirements established by AASHTO and the FHWA.

Easy to carry, handle, install, store, the Absorb-M has been designed to facilitate all operations and internal management. All the details regarding assembly, handling, variety of parts, etc. can be found in the manufacturer’s installation manual.

In addition to the details and explanations found in the installation manual, you can consult the product video. The manufacturer also offers online training in the form of short clips.

ABSORB-M

No ground anchoring, easy deployment/removal, and the shortest lengh in its class makes the ABSORB-M non-redirective system the contractor’s choise for a work zone ready MASH crash cushion.

At only 24” (61 cm) wide, the Absorb-M is suited for narrow areas where road and workspace is limited. Ideal to shield anchored or unanchored barriers up to 42” tall. As its confreree (Absorb 350), the system utilizes interchangeable, nested elements to reduce inventory costs and a universal transition takes time and complexity out of installation.

ABSORB-M Key Features
  • Easy to install and relocate
  • The MASH TL-3 is the shortest unanchored, non-redirective impact cushion on the market
  • Short length for easy carrying, handling and storage
  • Elements can be easily lifted through forklift ports while full
  • Low part count facilitates spare parts inventory management
  • Universal attachment for all types of barriers
  • No ground anchor required
  • Can be attached to an anchored or unanchored barrier
  • Narrow footprint
  • Can be deployed on almost any road surface
  • No internal steel parts which allows the use of any type of antifreeze liquid.
